On 08.06.2013. in Mokrin was held the inaugural assembly of the Association for the Protection of the Great Bustard which was attended by Provincial Secretary Slobodan Puzović, PhD.

The Association was formed by residents of the neighboring village of Special Nature Reserve "Pastures of great bustard", students and many activists for the protection of nature. Also present were representatives of the Hunting Association of Jazov and Mokrina, as well as members of the Society for the Study and Protection of birds of Serbia.

At the inaugural meeting the objectives of the Association relating primarily to improve the protection of Great Bustard population in Banat are highlighted.
